Prabhu Jagadbandhu was a 19th-century Hindu Vaishnav Saint of Bengal. Considered a re-incarnation of Sri Chaitanya〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.mahanam.org/prabhulife.html )〕 he spent much of his life meditating and preaching in the Sri Angan Ashram in Faridpur, British India (present day Bangladesh). His teachings were the inspiration for the founding of the Mahanam Sampraday sect. He attained Samadhi in 1921 in Sri Angan. His mortal remains have been preserved and worshipped ever since with continuous recitation of Harinam or God's name since 1921. ==Teachings== Prabhu belonged to the Vaishnav tradition. He stressed the importance of chanting God's name (Hari Nam)〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://icbs-primax-outsource.com/mahanamsampraday/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=52&Itemid=519 )〕 as a means of remembering and drawing close to the divine. He urged followers to follow a simple life avoiding temptation.
